National Journalists Association Secretary Gantla Srinu Babu, Visakhapatnam District President P Narayana, who presided over the Dussehra celebrations, said that the central and state governments, which are implementing many welfare schemes for people from different sections of the society, are showing a stubborn hand when it comes to journalists. They said that they have already given petitions to government officials, coalition leaders and officials with demands such as providing houses and plots to journalists, providing pensions to journalists who have completed 60 years of age, granting health cards to journalists, etc., and they will take them to the attention of the government in stages. They said that like every festival, the Dussehra celebrations were held with great pomp this year as well.
