The Department of English, St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, organized its intercollegiate literary fest “Crimson Clues 2025” on the theme “Marking the Legacy of Agatha Christie – The Queen of Crimes.” A special highlight of the fest was the release of the first edition of “English Chronicles”, a compilation of 26 articles authored by the III B.A. English Literature students. Nearly 75 students from reputed institutions, including Aditya Degree College (two campuses), Adarsh Degree College, and Dr. V.S. Krishna Government Degree & P.G. College, participated enthusiastically. More than ten competitions inspired by Christie’s themes of Murder, Mystery, Adventure, and Suspense showcased the students’ creativity, analytical thinking, and literary talent.

The Department conveys its gratitude to Dr. Sr. Shyji, Principal, for her encouragement, and to Dr. Aruna Devi for her support. Distinguished guests included Dr. Padma Priya (Assistant Professor of English, Dr. V.S. Krishna College – Chief Guest, Inaugural), Dr. P.K. Jayalakshmi (Former Head, Dept. of Second Languages, SJCW – Guest of Honour), and Mrs. Rajini (Head, Dept. of English, Mrs. A.V.N. College – Chief Guest, Valedictory).
The Coordinator of the fest, Dr. T. Bhaskara Sudha, Head of the Department of English, led the program with dedication. Faculty members Dr. Nalini, Dr. Tonia, Mrs. Veena, Mrs. Prameela, Mrs. Madhuri, and Dr. Sudhapriya actively participated and contributed to the success of the event.
Crimson Clues 2025 not only celebrated the legacy of Agatha Christie but also provided a platform for young minds to explore, express, and excel. It further strengthened the literary culture and academic excellence of the college.
