156 th Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at Ba-Bapu Seva Sangham

Visakhapatnam, October 2, 2025: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, under the auspices of Ba-Bapu Seva Sangham and Gandhi Center, a grand statue unveiling ceremony of Ba-Bapu and Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh was held at Ba-Bapu Bhavan premises in Dwarakanagar, Visakhapatnam.

The event was attended by Prof. V. Balamohanadas, President of the Gandhi Center; Joint Secretary Dr. K. Rajashekhar; Dr. D. Kameswara Rao of Gayatri College; Dr. Antarvedi, President of Ba-Bapu Bhavan; PR Officer of Saint Joseph College; and Dr. P. K. Jayalakshmi, Coordinator of the Gandhi Center.

They paid floral tributes to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi, and Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh at the venue.

In addition, members of Ba-Bapu Bhavan and Gandhi Center participated and commemorated the memories of Mahatma Gandhi, Ba, and Durgabai Deshmukh.

Prominent speakers at the event emphasized the urgent need to practice Gandhi’s thoughts in today's society and called for spreading the values of truth and non-violence among the youth.

The program was coordinated by Mrs. V. Ramani, Secretary of Ba-Bapu Seva Sangham, and Dr. B. Rama Rao, Secretary of Gandhi Center.
