Under the auspices of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, “Math Matrix 2K25” — an intercollegiate academic fest — was inaugurated at St. Joseph’s College for Women (A), Visakhapatnam, on Friday at 9:30 a.m., said the College Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji.
Under the auspices of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, “Math Matrix 2K25” — an intercollegiate academic fest — was inaugurated at St. Joseph’s College for Women (A), Visakhapatnam, on Friday at 9:30 a.m., said the College Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. C. H. Srinivasa Rao, Lecturer, Samagra Shiksha, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. P. K. Jayalakshmi, PRO of the College and former Head of the Department of Second Languages, as the Guest of Honour. Prof. K. P. R. Sharma, former Head, Department of Mathematics, Andhra University, attended as the Distinguished Guest and spoke about the importance of mathematics in modern education.
In their addresses, the guests emphasized the value of such academic fests in developing leadership qualities, respect for others’ ideas, and team spirit among students.
Over 80 students from various colleges participated enthusiastically in the event. The Fest featured six major competitions, including the Problem-Solving Championship, said Dr. Captain K. Sujatha, Head of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the Coordinator of the event.
The guests were felicitated, and the fest was formally inaugurated thereafter.
Faculty members Mrs. K. K. Soujanya, Mrs. G. Yojana, Mrs. Lakshmi, Mr. S. Sriram, Dr. V. Gouri Shankara Rao, Ms. Sunitha Chowdary, Mrs. V. Bharathi, and Dr. P. K. Jayalakshmi actively contributed to the successful conduct of the programme under the leadership of Dr. Captain K. Sujatha.Students from A.V.N. College, V.S. Krishna College, Gayatri Vidya Parishad, Prism Degree College, and B.V.K. College also participated in large numbers with great enthusiasm.
