Kurnool, October 13 —* The forthcoming public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kurnool, being organised in the wake of the Centre’s GST 2.0 reforms, will be remembered as a watershed moment in the district’s history, asserted TDP State President and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao, who reviewed the ongoing arrangements for the GST 2.0 Maha Sabha on Monday, told the media at the TDP district office in Kurnool that meticulous planning was underway to ensure a seamless experience for the public attending the Prime Minister’s rally. “From traffic regulation to drinking water, medical facilities, and parking arrangements — every department is working in close coordination to guarantee smooth conduct of the event,” he said.
GST 2.0 — A New Dawn for India’s Economy”*Mr. Srinivasa Rao described the GST 2.0 initiative as a landmark reform that signals a new phase in India’s economic evolution under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. “This is not merely a tax reform; it is a structural transformation that infuses new energy into the nation’s economy,” he said
The reform, he explained, would benefit small traders, farmers, middle-class families, and homemakers alike, paving the way for inclusive and sustainable growth. With reduced taxation on essential commodities, sectors such as automobile, agriculture, education, and healthcare would become more accessible. “By enhancing the purchasing power of ordinary citizens, GST 2.0 will contribute to steady economic expansion,” he said.According to his estimates, every household in Andhra Pradesh is expected to save between ₹15,000 and ₹40,000 annually, while the State could accrue additional revenue of nearly ₹8,000 crore. Nationally, the savings could exceed ₹2.5 lakh crore, he noted.*“Every Rally in Rayalaseema Has Been a Resounding Success”*
Recalling the wave of enthusiasm witnessed in Rayalaseema’s political gatherings, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said, “Each meeting held in the region has been a grand success — from the Mahanadu in Kadapa to the ‘Super Six, Super Hit’ rally in Anantapur. The upcoming GST reforms meeting in Kurnool will be no different — it will be etched in public memory with the same fervour.”He added that there was a palpable sense of excitement across households in the undivided Kurnool district, and that more than three lakh people were expected to attend the event voluntarily. “The GST reforms mark the beginning of an economic revolution that will redefine the lives of the people,” he remarked.
*Coalition Government Steering Andhra Pradesh Towards Rapid Growth*
Reflecting on the coalition government’s performance over the past sixteen months, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said it had fulfilled several pre-election promises with remarkable speed and sincerity. “The Super Six welfare schemes have become super hits with the people,” he said, lauding Minister Nara Lokesh for conducting the Mega DSC in record time, resulting in appointments for 16,000 teachers, and for announcing another recruitment drive soon after.
He underscored that the coalition, led by Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, was working tirelessly for the welfare and progress of the people. “The alliance is not driven by politics but by purpose — it is a partnership for public good. Under their collective leadership, Andhra Pradesh is firmly on the path towards a golden era,” he affirmed.*“North for IT, South for Solar — A Balanced Development Vision”*
Elaborating on the State’s development blueprint, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was transforming Visakhapatnam into a major IT hub while developing Rayalaseema as a Solar and Drone Hub. “Tech giants such as Google and TCS have expressed interest in setting up data centres in Visakhapatnam, involving investments running into lakhs of crores,” he revealed.
“Simultaneously, the Chief Minister is positioning Kurnool as a Drone Hub, and several companies have already begun operations in Rayalaseema. Tomorrow, a major agreement for a Google Data Centre will be finalised in Delhi in the presence of Mr. Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh,” he added.
Highlighting the employment potential, he said the State aimed to create 20 lakh jobs, with five lakh of them in the IT sector alone, through initiatives driven by Mr. Lokesh. “Anantapur is emerging as a Space Hub, Visakhapatnam as an IT Hub, Amaravati as a Capital the Nation Can Take Pride In, and Kurnool as a Drone Hub. These four cities will together form the four wheels of Andhra Pradesh’s future growth engine,” he declared.
*“Chandrababu’s 15-Year Rule — A Golden Era of Visionary Governance”*
Describing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as a visionary leader, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said his 15 years of governance had transformed Andhra Pradesh into a modern State. “From conceptualising the Hi-Tech City to pioneering e-Governance, his reforms have become a benchmark for the nation,” he observed.
“People-centric programmes such as Janmabhoomi, Prajalaku Palana, E-Governance, Rythu Bazars, and welfare schemes gave direction to the erstwhile State. Today, under the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, the State is marching confidently towards a new era of prosperity,” he added.
Ministers Nimmala Rama Naidu (Irrigation) and T.G. Bharat (Heavy Industries), MLC B.T. Naidu, TDP District President Tikka Reddy, and other senior leaders of the party were present at the review meeting.
