Visakhapatnam, October 23:*Member of Parliament for Visakhapatnam, M. Sribharat, interacted with students of the 165-year-old AVN College, one of the city’s most historic educational institutions, today.
During his address, he emphasized that data centers form a vital pillar of India’s digital sovereignty, ensuring control over national data, protecting against surveillance, and minimizing risks arising from foreign jurisdiction. He noted that Visakhapatnam’s planned data center and subsea cable projects mark a significant step in positioning the city as a global technology hub capable of attracting top-tier companies and building a robust IT ecosystem.
MP Sribharat also engaged with students on several key topics, including responsible use of social media, career focus areas for youth, and the civic responsibilities of citizens in shaping a stronger democracy.He commended the college for its long-standing contribution to education and intellectual growth in the region and encouraged students to blend technical knowledge with social awareness to contribute meaningfully to society.
