Visakhapatnam:Even after her death, she is living like a Chiranjeevi in the lives of four people. The person who brought great sorrow to his family has brought happiness to four other families. Even though the family is in the pain of losing a female child, she is being congratulated by everyone for coming forward to donate her organs to bring new light to other families. Going into details, K Annapurna (50) from Visakhapatnam's Visakhapatnam was hit by a bike while crossing the road at Hanumanthuwaka on Saturday and was rushed to VIMS Hospital after suffering severe bleeding. The hospital medical team worked hard to save her. However, as her health deteriorated, the medical team declared her brain dead. The medical team made their family members and relatives aware about organ donation. They agreed and took this information to the attention of Dr. K. Rambabu, the state coordinator of Jeevan Daan and director of VIMS, who issued permission to receive the organs. Later, the liver, lungs and cornea were received from the brain-dead woman. The organs were allocated to various hospitals following the seniority list as per the Jeevan Daan protocol. The family members of the deceased said that they were proud to have brought light to the lives of others. The local people congratulated their family members.
Organs transported through the green channel
The organs received from Annapurna were transported to a hospital in Hyderabad through the green channel. With the help of the city police commissioner, the organs were transported to the airport through a special escort. During the transportation of the organs, the VIMS staff bid a solemn farewell.

It is commendable that the Annapurna family has come forward to donate organs with the intention of bringing joy to other families even in their deep sorrow. People are now coming forward to donate organs, dispelling the misconceptions that exist among people about organ donation. However, about 5000 patients are waiting for organs across the state. If a special medical team is formed in every hospital for life donation, there will be a possibility of receiving organs from brain-dead people. Thus, new lives can be given to many people. Special congratulations to the police department for helping to send the collected organs through the green channel. Special congratulations to the medical team for encouraging organ donation. Special congratulations to the family members who came forward.

Another organ donation at VIMS..
Under the leadership of Director Dr. K. Rambabu, VIMS Hospital, which created history in the government health sector by performing liver transplantation, has achieved another feat. VIMS Hospital has already declared six brain dead cases, which is not possible for any government hospital in the state, and has collected organs from them and given new lives to tens of thousands. VIMS Hospital has formed a team specifically to create awareness about Jeevan Daan. VIMS Hospital has been able to achieve this feat only because of creating widespread awareness about organ donation.
