Visakhapatnam, October 2:*_ On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and the festival of Vijayadashami, Palla Srinivasa Rao, State President of the Telugu Desam Party and MLA for Gajuwaka, extended his greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the significance of leadership anchored in truth and non-violence. Speaking on the occasion, he drew parallels between Mahatma Gandhi’s struggle for India’s independence and the current governance of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. “Gandhi faced British oppression and incarceration without yielding, wielding only truth and non-violence as his instruments. Today, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu embodies the same philosophy, delivering on every promise made to the people through adherence to truth and non-violence,” he said. *The Legacy of Misrule and False Promises:* Mr. Palla criticized the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy administration, asserting that the state had been mired in violence, deceitful propaganda, and factionalism. He recalled incidents such as the Dr. Sudhakar case, the Ananta Babu matter, and the hindrances faced during Nara Lokesh’s padayatra, which remain etched in public memory. “Government machinery was employed to silence the voices of the people, and the unlawful incarceration of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on baseless charges is something the citizens cannot forget. Even Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan faced obstructions at every step,” he added. *Progress Through Non-Violent Leadership:* Contrasting the two administrations, Mr. Palla emphasized that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has charted a path of governance rooted in truth and non-violence. “By faithfully implementing the promises made in the election manifesto, he has propelled the state forward across employment, welfare, and development. This is leadership befitting the spirit of Gandhiji,” he remarked. *Visakhapatnam Steel Plant: A Matter of State Pride:* Highlighting the revival of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Mr. Palla described the Chief Minister’s efforts as historic. The securing of a ₹14,000-crore revival package from the Centre, of which ₹9,500 crore has already been released, coupled with a marked increase in production, has laid a strong foundation for the plant’s rejuvenation. “This revival has instilled renewed confidence among the workforce and stands as a source of pride not just for Visakhapatnam, but for the entire state,” he noted. *Governance Bringing Joy to Every Household:* Drawing an analogy with Vijayadashami, when the defeat of Narakasura is celebrated, Mr. Palla said, “Just as the triumph over evil is commemorated with joy, the conclusion of Jagan Reddy’s factional rule and the 18 months of Chandrababu Naidu’s administration have ushered in a celebratory atmosphere across Andhra Pradesh. Corruption, violence, and falsehoods have given way to transparency, welfare, and genuine democratic governance.” *‘Super Six’ – A Resounding Hit:* The Chief Minister’s ‘Super Six’ promises, Mr. Palla asserted, are transforming the lives of citizens. Within the first month of assuming office, pensions were disbursed worth ₹4,000 crore, women received three gas cylinders annually under the Deepam-2 scheme, free bus travel under Stri Shakti was introduced, every student was granted ₹15,000 under Talli Vandanam, farmers were provided ₹20,000 annually, youth employment initiatives were prioritized, and Mega DSC recruitment saw 16,347 posts filled along with 6,100 constabulary positions. Additionally, financial support of ₹15,000 per annum for auto drivers and the expansion of social security schemes have provided tangible relief to the public. “Collectively, these initiatives have made the ‘Super Six’ a remarkable success,” he said.
