Mangalagiri, December 1:Training sessions at the TDP central headquarters, NTR Bhavan, commenced today with floral tributes to the late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. TDP State President and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao addressed mandal presidents and general secretaries, outlining the party’s evolution from its inception to the present day and offering directional guidance for the organisation’s next phase.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Srinivasa Rao asserted with unmistakable pride that the Telugu Desam Party stands apart not only in India but across the world for possessing a cadre rooted in values, discipline, and loyalty. While other political parties may have supporters, volunteers or voters, he said, the TDP is fortified by “soldiers and warriors”. He recalled with emotion that TDP workers have not merely served the party but made personal sacrifices, often placing the party’s cause above family and safety, drawing attention to the exemplary dedication of leaders like Chandra Mayya, whose selflessness, he said, continues to inspire.

According to him, the ongoing training is not a routine political exercise but a foundational effort to strengthen ideological clarity, organisational discipline, and the party’s long-term direction. Across villages and towns, the TDP cadre commands trust and respect, he noted. While the party has a strong political legacy, he emphasized that relevance is sustained only when the organisation evolves with time. Well-informed and well-trained workers, he insisted, are the lifeblood of the party, and these sessions aim to bridge existing gaps in understanding and capacity.

Reflecting on the TDP’s historic journey, Mr. Srinivasa Rao reminded participants that the party was born out of N. T. Rama Rao’s determination to uplift the marginalised and restore the self-respect and dignity of Telugu people worldwide. The ideological mission he initiated, he said, continues to shape the party’s trajectory. He underscored that NTR’s vision, coupled with N. Chandrababu Naidu’s administrative acumen, has consistently guided the party’s commitment to public welfare. Recalling how Mr. Naidu’s Vision 2020 was initially met with scepticism but later recognised as prescient, he said the motto “What CBN thinks today, the nation thinks tomorrow” gained traction for a reason. He called upon the party to work collectively, guided by Mr. Naidu’s experience, Mr. Lokesh’s youthful leadership, and the blessings of NTR.

Reiterating the TDP’s long-standing motto of being on the side of the people irrespective of whether it is in power or opposition, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the party’s four-decade journey reflects resilience, ideological commitment and an unbroken engagement with the problems faced by the public. He noted that Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership steered the TDP from a regional entity into a national force capable of influencing the country’s political narrative. Despite crises and setbacks, he said, Mr. Naidu’s steadfastness has shaped generations of political workers and strengthened the party’s organisational muscle.

Turning to contemporary political demands, he commended Nara Lokesh for introducing technology-driven reforms, mobilising youth, and infusing new energy into the organisation. He recalled Mr. Lokesh’s extensive 3,132-km Yuvagalam padayatra, which brought thousands of young leaders into the party and expanded its social footprint. He highlighted Mr. Lokesh’s commitment to enrolling one crore members into the TDP family through a technologically integrated membership drive and establishing a dedicated cell for the welfare of party workers.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao stressed that improving the living standards of TDP workers is not merely a political obligation but a moral one. This training, he said, will help ensure that deserving workers secure access to government schemes and welfare programmes.

He underlined that the primary objective of these training sessions is to build a cadre with ideological clarity, political maturity and organisational competence. While many individuals participate in party programmes, he said, the training seeks to cultivate leaders who thoroughly understand the party’s direction, responsibilities and political ethos. Learning, he added, is not a two-day activity but a continuous process. Only those who adapt to changing times can command public confidence.

Concluding his address, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the programme aims to instil a deeper appreciation of the party’s ideology and a heightened sense of responsibility towards building a better society in Andhra Pradesh, anchoring the exercise in both conviction and collective purpose.
