Women’s Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament-cum-Selections at St. Joseph’s College

Visakhapatnam :Visakhapatnam Darpan news service: The Andhra University Women’s Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament-cum-Selections was organized at St. Joseph’s College for Women. The event commenced at 10:00 a.m. at the college basketball court. The programme was inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr. Sr. Shyji, in the presence of Physical Director Dr. Praveen Kumar and Public Relations Officer Dr. P. K. Jayalakshmi.

The chief guest for the tournament was Prof. N. Vijay Mohan, Director of Physical Education, Andhra University.

A total of seven college teams participated in the tournament, out of which three colleges bagged prizes. Mrs. AVN College secured the first position, ANITS College won the second position, and Dr. L. B. College achieved the third position.

The participating teams included St. Joseph’s College for Women, Mrs. AVN College, Dr. L. B. College, ANITS College, Pragati College of Physical Education, BVK College, and Visakha Women’s College. Altogether, 90 women players took part in the tournament.
