Morning Session: Rural Outreach to Empower Communities
In the morning session, ASR Homoeopathic Medical College, in association with the Umar Alisha Rural Development Trust and the Sri Viswa Viznana Vidhya Adhyatmik Peetham Ashram branches, successfully organized three awareness camps. These vital programs were held simultaneously in the villages of Ballipadu, Relangi, and Paidiparru. The primary objective of these camps was to educate rural communities on various aspects of cancer, emphasizing early detection and preventive measures. A key highlight of these village camps was the explanation of the role and scope of homoeopathic medicines in cancer care. The dedicated efforts of Dr. Sairam, Dr. Kiranmai, and Dr. Azaruddin, along with numerous enthusiastic interns and students, were instrumental in the successful execution of these outreach programs.
Afternoon Session: Academic Seminar and Poster Presentations at ASR Homoeopathic Medical CollegeThe afternoon session witnessed a vibrant seminar organized at the ASR Homoeopathic Medical College's Seminar Hall. Dr. Ananda Kumar Pingali, Principal of ASR Homoeopathic Medical College, addressed the gathering, elaborating on the promising scope of Homoeopathy in cancer treatment. He emphasized that homoeopathic treatments can effectively complement conventional therapies like chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Patients already undergoing conventional treatments can simultaneously benefit from homoeopathic medicines to alleviate side effects and improve overall well-being. Dr. Pingali particularly stressed the vital role of Homoeopathy in palliative care, noting its effectiveness in alleviating symptoms and enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients. He also highlighted the encouraging research being conducted by the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy in this area.He further proudly announced the college's dedicated infrastructure for patient care. "ASR Homoeopathic Medical College currently operates 18 Outpatient Department clinics covering various specialties, which includes a dedicated Cancer and Palliative Care Division. We have recently launched a specialized Cancer OPD where we provide both cancer treatment and palliative care for cancer cases. Furthermore, we have an inpatient department equipped to admit such cases and offer comprehensive treatment," stated Dr. Pingali. He appealed to the public to approach qualified homoeopaths to discuss their condition. He stated that since each patient and case varies, a personalized approach is crucial, and generalizing the efficacy of Homoeopathy for all cancers is not advisable. He urged individuals to seek awareness from homoeopaths to make informed decisions about their treatment journey, rather than ignoring the science behind it.The World Cancer Day events organized by ASR Homoeopathic Medical College underscored its commitment to public health education and its dedication to integrating Homoeopathy into the broader cancer care landscape, aligning with global efforts to combat the disease, supported by its specialized clinical facilities and the active participation of its dedicated faculty, interns, and students.
