Visakhapatnam, March 7, 2026:St. Joseph’s College for Women (A) Visakhapatnam, observed International Women’s Day with enthusiasm and a strong message of women’s empowerment. The NSS Unit of the college, under the leadership of Programme Officer Dr. K. Manikya Kumari, organized an awareness program highlighting the concept of “Give to Gain.” The initiative focused on five key principles that promote empowerment and collective growth:
1. Give Opportunity – Gain Innovation
2. Give Support – Gain Future Leaders
3. Give Flexibility – Gain Retention and Well-being
4. Give Voice – Gain Stronger Teams
5. Give Back – Gain Stronger Communities
The theme of International Women’s Day 2026, announced by UN Women, is “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls.” The theme emphasizes bridging the gap between legal rights and the realities faced by women in everyday life, while calling for accountability and decisive action to ensure justice and equality for all women and girls. Another widely recognized campaign theme this year is #GiveToGain, which encourages acts of meaningful support and empowerment to foster collective progress. As part of the celebration, faculty members and students displayed creative stills representing acts of heartfelt giving, symbolizing the spirit and purpose of this year’s theme. On this occasion, the Principal of the college, Dr. Sr. Shyji, conveyed her warm Women’s Day greetings to all women faculty and students and encouraged them to continue striving for empowerment, leadership, and social responsibility. Many students and faculty members actively participated in the program, making the celebration meaningful and inspiring
