TDP State President Palla and others congratulate Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on legal recognition of Amaravati as the sole capital*
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rao described the Lok Sabha’s approval of the Amaravati legality Bill as a historic milestone that vindicated the aspirations of the people of the State. He observed that Amaravati was not merely an administrative capital but had evolved into a powerful symbol of the self-respect of five crore Andhras.
He further noted that the decision was being celebrated across the State with palpable enthusiasm. Households, he said, were lighting lamps to mark the occasion, underscoring the emotional resonance of Amaravati attaining legal recognition — a reflection of the collective joy of the people.
Mr. Rao attributed the realisation of Amaravati as the permanent capital to the Chief Minister’s foresight, vast administrative experience, and unwavering commitment to development. He emphasised that even in the face of challenging circumstances, Mr. Naidu’s leadership remained steadfast, consistently working towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people. The decision, he added, was taken with a long-term vision and would benefit future generations. He also highlighted that the achievement was the culmination of sustained public struggle and the sacrifices of farmers, whose contributions had been instrumental. The Chief Minister’s efforts to shape Amaravati into a world-class capital, he said, were commendable and aligned with the State’s long-term developmental trajectory.
Launching a sharp critique of the previous YSR Congress Party administration, Mr. Rao alleged that the proposal of three capitals had plunged the State into uncertainty and administrative confusion. Such decisions, he said, had impeded development and fostered ambiguity among the public. With Amaravati now firmly established as the sole capital, he asserted, all lingering doubts had been laid to rest.
Mr. Rao cautioned against attempts to mislead the public through speculative or contradictory statements on Amaravati’s development. He maintained that people would decisively reject political approaches that hinder the State’s progress.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Mr. Rao affirmed that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the coalition government remained resolute in transforming Amaravati into a world-class capital. He described the development as a defining milestone in the State’s growth trajectory.
