The US. Consulate General in Hyderabad, in collaboration with St. Joseph's College for Women, hosted an interactive workshop titled "Youth and Cybersecurity" on November 11, 2025, at the college campus in Visakhapatnam.

The session was be led by Mr. Saikrishna Singapuram, a seasoned Senior Cybersecurity Consultant with nearly a decade of diversified experience in the cybersecurity domain. Currently serving as a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at the Telangana Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE) a joint initiative of the Government of Telangana and the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) - Mr. Singapuram is also an alumnus of the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), sponsored by the US. This workshop aligns with the US. Mission to India's strategic goal of strengthening cybersecurity awareness and digital resilience, particularly among youth. As artificial intelligence (Al) reshapes the digital landscape, it is being leveraged both to bolster defenses and to enable sophisticated threats such as Al-generated phishing, social engineering, identity theft, and voice deepfakes. The session helped to equip students with practical knowledge and skills to identify risks, protect personal data, and foster safe online practices
This workshop is designed to empower young women with the tools to navigate an increasingly complex digital world with confidence and security."The program included real-world case studies, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive discussions on emerging cyber threats, ethical Al use, and personal digital hygiene.
