Visakhapatnam Darpan:Gnanapuram: Christmas celebrations were held in a grand manner at St. Joseph Women’s College, Gnanapuram. The programme was organised to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and embodiment of love, who sacrificed His life on the cross to redeem humanity from sin, said College Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji. The celebrations began at 10 a.m. with the beautifully illuminated depiction of the manger and the Infant Jesus. Faculty members Divya, Deepti, Mary, Anita, Madhuri, Prameela and Tonia, along with students, presented melodious Christmas carols, creating a festive atmosphere.The birth of Lord Jesus was explained through meaningful skits and songs. Amidst the lively rendition of “Jingle Bells,” a student, Pravallika, dressed as Santa Claus, made a surprise appearance on stage and entertained the gathering by distributing chocolates and gifts.Later, Christmas cakes and gifts were distributed to all the students. Faculty members, non-teaching staff and Sisters Mary, Hema, Jain , Deepali, Nancy and Daisy actively participated in the celebrationsA creatively performed flash mob by the students attracted special appreciation, said Media In-charge Dr. P.K.
