St. Joseph’s College for Women Celebrates National Mathematics Day

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Darpan: December 22, 2025: The Department of Mathematics at St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous) organized grand celebrations to mark National Mathematics Day. The event was conducted under the expert guidance of Dr. K. Sujatha, Head of the Department of Mathematics, to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

To make mathematics engaging and foster a love for the subject among students, the department organized a series of innovative competitions. These included a General Mathematics Quiz, Sudoku, Emoji Arithmetic, and an exciting Puzzle Hunt. 82 Students from various streams participated enthusiastically, showcasing their logical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Principal Dr. Sr. Shyji graced the occasion and distributed certificates to the winners and participants. Speaking at the event, she appreciated the students' active involvement and commended the Department of Mathematics for organizing such creative events that go beyond traditional classroom learning. She congratulated Dr. K. Sujatha and the faculty members for their successful execution of the programme.

Other faculty members of the Mathematics Department were present to facilitate the events and encourage the students.
