Coalition Government Realises the Dream of Home Ownership for the Poor, Grand Distribution of TIDCO Houses to Beneficiaries* ▪️*Chandrababu’s Vision Bears Fruit, TIDCO Housing Ushers in a New Dawn in the Lives of the Poor* *-- _TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao_*
The houses were formally handed over to beneficiaries in the presence of Visakhapatnam In-charge Minister Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, TDP State President and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao, and BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju. On the occasion, as many as 1,393 houses were allotted to beneficiaries in Gajuwaka.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Palla Srinivasa Rao underscored that the coalition government has accelerated its efforts to provide a permanent solution to the housing needs of the poor across the State. He noted that 2.5 lakh TIDCO houses are being distributed in the current phase alone. Recalling that 3 lakh houses were handed over during the first phase last year, he stated that the ongoing second phase adds another 2.5 lakh units, taking the total to 5.5 lakh houses completed and delivered within a span of just 21 months—an achievement he described as a testament to the government’s administrative resolve and commitment.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao levelled serious allegations against the previous YSRCP government, accusing it of neglecting houses that had already been completed by 2019. He alleged that nearly ₹300 crore was misused under the pretext of repainting, while critical infrastructure such as cement roads, drinking water supply, drainage systems, and sewage treatment facilities remained unaddressed. The decision to leave completed houses unoccupied, despite beneficiaries having made payments, was cited as a glaring example of administrative apathy and governance failure
He further stated that upon assuming office, the coalition government mobilised resources and expedited pending works, thereby restoring functionality to the housing units. He attributed this turnaround to the foresight and administrative acumen of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, noting that the initiative reflects a governance model that harmonises welfare with development.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that housing construction and distribution programmes would be expanded at an accelerated pace in the coming months, with the ultimate objective of ensuring that every poor family in the State secures a home of its own.
