Jubilant scenes in Gajuwaka as Amaravati’s legal status is affirmed… TDP cadres celebrate under Palla’s leadership*

Visakhapatnam, April 02:* Jubilant celebrations erupted in Gajuwaka following the Lok Sabha’s approval of the Amaravati legal status Bill, with festivities led by TDP State president and MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao. A large gathering of party leaders and cadre marked the occasion with visible enthusiasm, cutting cakes, bursting firecrackers, and raising slogans that resonated across the locality.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rao described the passage of the Bill as a historic milestone that has fulfilled the aspirations of five crore people of Andhra Pradesh. He underscored that the development transcends a mere administrative decision on the capital, characterising it instead as a restoration of the self-respect of the Telugu people. He attributed the achievement to the sacrifices of farmers and the sustained, peaceful struggle of the public.

Mr. Rao launched a sharp critique of the previous YSRCP regime, accusing it of neglecting Amaravati and plunging the State into uncertainty through the proposal of three capitals. He alleged that the ambiguity surrounding the capital issue had hindered development and misled the public. The Centre’s unequivocal recognition of Amaravati as the legal capital, he said, has now dispelled all lingering doubts.

Asserting that Amaravati’s status is now unassailable, Mr. Rao said it would stand as a definitive identity for the State. He cautioned the public against falling prey to misinformation and urged them to disregard narratives propagated by what he termed as anti-development forces.

He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their role in facilitating the Bill’s passage. He credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the coalition government’s resolve for making the development possible.
