TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao conducts surprise inspection at Gangavaram school; examines quality of mid-day meal*
Visakhapatnam, April 02:* Palla Srinivasa Rao, State President of the Telugu Desam Party and MLA from Gajuwaka, carried out a surprise inspection at the Government High School in Gangavaram, within the Gajuwaka constituency. The visit focused on a comprehensive assessment of the mid-day meal programme, school infrastructure, and the overall standard of teaching.
During the inspection, Mr. Rao personally sampled the mid-day meal to evaluate its quality. He interacted directly with students, eliciting their feedback on the food and any issues they faced. He advised them to promptly inform teachers and parents in case of any lapses in the quality of meals provided.
Addressing the school staff, Mr. Rao underscored that negligence concerning students’ health would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed that a designated teacher must mandatorily inspect the meal every day after preparation and ensure its quality before it is served to students. He stressed the need for sustained and vigilant monitoring of the mid-day meal scheme.
In a bid to strengthen parental involvement, Mr. Rao called for the mandatory use of the LEAP app, urging parents to register their feedback and complaints regarding meal quality through the platform. He further instructed officials to institutionalise periodic feedback collection from parents via the IVRS system. Emphasising that there would be zero compromise on students’ health and safety, he warned that any instance of negligence or dereliction of duty would invite stringent action against those responsible.
Mr. Rao also reviewed the quality of teaching, student attendance records, infrastructure, and sanitation within the school premises. He urged teachers to strive towards ensuring that every student receives quality education. He observed that restoring and strengthening public trust in government schools hinges on the consistent delivery of high standards in both education and facilities, a responsibility that rests collectively on all stakeholders.
